MODEL DESCRIPTION
Legionnaires are the backbone of the empire, used not only for conquest but also for patrolling conquered lands, garrisoning outposts, and policing occupied cities.

They are armed with gladius for close-quarter fighting and pilums for hurling during a charge.

Their armor of lorica segmentata covers most of their body affording good protection in addition to the large scutum shield.

When using their Testudo tactic, Legionnaires become the ultimate defensive unit. Together with their high melee-skill due to their years as professional soldiers, Legionnaires constitute rock-solid core troops.

Their disadvantages are slow movement due to being heavy infantry and the low power of their gladius sword. However, due to their staying power, they can dish out many more attacks before being cut down than other standard infantry units can.

MODEL DESCRIPTION
For combating heavy infantry, heavy cavalry and monstrous beasts, the Lichelords created the Praetorian Carnifexors.

These elite troops wear heavy armor of chainmail and lorica segmentata, so are as well armored as legionnaires, but they wield halberds which hit with far more power than a Legionnaire's gladius.

Their exceptional melee statistics and abilities make them an ideal addition to any warband; for example they pay 1 less ACT for counter-attacks while using the defensive tactic Retaliation.

MODEL DESCRIPTION
Those legions which fail the empire are disbanded, executed and turned to undead so they may redeem themselves fighting for the empire once more.

As with living Legionnaires, the strength of Legio Mortum attacks is quite low, but their Deadflesh ability means they suffer half damage from attacks of POW3 and lower. Those not killed outright automatically recover full life-points at the end of each turn, making these units incredibly resilient!

Legio Mortum make an ideal blocker unit for any Mortan warband. For Magistratum sub-faction warbands they represent the standard core troops, and when boosted by a Mortifex or Necromagus, they can become a potent offensive force too.

MODEL DESCRIPTION
These soldiers are skirmishers who sling bombs consisting of glass jars packed with explosive made of naphtha, sulpher and oil. Using a long glove-cup called a xistera, the Bombers are able to hurl the bulky explosives a considerable distance with impressive accuracy.

The Xisteri Bombers are clothed in thick leathers, covered in ceramic plates and treated with chemicals to make them fire resistant, and they also wear masks to protect against smoke and gas. Such protective clothing is necessary since battlefields deployed with Technostratum troops quickly become toxic fire-hells.

Expert skirmishers all, the Bombslingers use their practiced technique of closing, launching their barrage, and then falling back behind veils of black smoke which they release to cover their retreat.
