In the tundra, taiga, northern plains and mountain ranges of Calydorn roams a deadly predator which normally occupies the top of the food-chain in his region – the Varg.
In appearance they resemble a giant wolf with powerful thick legs and sharp fangs.
Nordgaard makes use of several breeds of Varg, including the Bloodvarg.
To call such reared animals tame would be an over-statement, but they are manageable if they have a tough and dominant master.
They have become a favored support for Dwarven forces as a compensation for the ponderous speed of armored Dwarves.
To increase their survivability in combat, Bloodvargs are trained from an early age to wear a harness of armor made from hardened leather and metal plates.
The Bloodvarg is an ideal weapon to threaten approaching enemies due to its 12 inch charge range. With a maximum of 16 inches movement, it is ideal for flanking and taking out enemy archers.
